Know Your Miles Cold
Guessed-at mileage is the first thing an auditor pokes, and weak numbers turn into a fatter bill. HaulFile logs every mile in every state as you run it, so your proof's already done before anybody asks.
The headache
IFTA lives and dies on miles by state. You and your drivers log miles on the trucks they're assigned (each driver sees only his own), and the state-by-state tally builds itself as the wheels turn. When somebody wants to know where you ran, you've already got the answer, clean.

How miles flow to your IFTA worksheet
Each mileage row is dated and tagged with a state. When the IFTA engine runs, it sums miles per state per quarter and pours them straight into the worksheet. No copy-paste, no rounding errors, no double entry. Add a new mileage row at 8 PM Tuesday; your Q2 worksheet reflects it at 8 PM Tuesday.
ELD or logbook? Both work
HaulFile is ELD-agnostic. Most ELDs export a daily summary CSV; you upload it and HaulFile parses it into mileage rows. Prefer to type it in from a paper log? That works too. Same form, same engine, same output. We do not require any specific telematics vendor.
US-48 scope today
Canadian provinces and Mexico are not in scope for v1 (Mexico isn't an IFTA jurisdiction; Canada is the next major build). The mileage form will accept any 2-letter state code, and the engine simply ignores rows for jurisdictions it doesn't know, so a non-IFTA row never produces a wrong return. The mileage page shows a banner when you enter one.
